  • BSN to MSN – This path is designed for RNs who have already earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and are looking to earn the MSN.
  • RN to MSN for Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree –  A “fast track” to the MSN, this path is for RNs entering with both a diploma/associate degree in nursing and a bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing field. Students in this track will earn a BSN equivalency.
  • RN to MSN for Candidates without a Bachelor’s Degree – This path is for RNs entering with a diploma or associate degree in nursing. Students in this track will earn the BSN and MSN.

Students in the MSN program choose from one of three in-demand tracks to specialize their degree based on their career goals:

In this path, students specialize their degree by joining the Family Nurse Practitioner track, which immerses students in theory and practice of primary care and prepares students to start successful careers as family nurse practitioners.
  • MSN to DNP – Nurse Practitioner Track – This path is designed for students who have already earned their nursing master’s degree and are certified nurse practitioners.   • MSN to DNP – Executive Leader Track – This path is designed for students who have earned the MSN degree and have a strong interest in healthcare leadership. Financial Aid

Applying for financial aid is easier than you think. A large percentage of Loyola students receive some form of financial aid, including:

  • Federal Loans: Students enrolled at least half-time are eligible for the Federal Direct Student Loan Program, which means that they can borrow subsidized or unsubsidized loans based on need. Parents of a dependent, undergraduate student may also qualify for these federal loans to pay for the student’s education.
  • Private Loans: There are also various private loan options available to students or their parents to pay for education.
  • Grants: Federal Pell Grants are available to qualifying students. The amount of aid awarded is based on financial need, cost of attendance, credits per semester, and various other factors. Additional federal or state grants might be available to students based on eligibility.

Our friendly staff will work with you one-on-one to help you understand your options and check your eligibility. Students should complete the FAFSA as early as possible after January 1 in order to be considered for all types of financial aid.

Yellow Ribbon Program

Loyola University New Orleans participates in several different programs for students who are eligible for benefits. The most popular program is the Post 9/11 program. If you are 100% eligible, you will receive $26,671 annually in tuition and fees. If you utilize this amount, you will be eligible for Yellow Ribbon. Loyola will provide up to $12,000, which Veterans Affairs will match. You may also be eligible for a monthly basic housing stipend with a value of up to $1,000 per year.
