If you are a registered nurse with an associate degree or diploma in nursing, and you want to expand your career opportunities or pursue a graduate degree, the first step is earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Loyola University New Orleans’ prestigious School of Nursing offers a 100% online bachelor’s degree in nursing that was recently ranked 30th among the best online nursing bachelor’s degree programs for 2017 by

The accredited online RN to BSN program builds on the preparation of nurse generalists and provides a foundation for graduate study. The comprehensive curriculum focuses on roles and functions not ordinarily emphasized in lower division nursing programs, including:

  • Population health nursing
  • Nursing research
  • Nursing leadership
  • Nursing informatics

Loyola’s online RN to BSN program consists of 120 credits and is designed to make completing your undergraduate degree as simple as possible. Easily transfer credits from your associate degree or diploma in nursing, and structure a study schedule that will allow you to maintain your personal and professional commitments.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, job growth in the nursing field is expected to grow 15% by 2026, which is much faster than the national average for all careers. Nurses who have a bachelor’s degree in nursing are in high demand and generally earn higher salaries than those who have an ADN, and many workplaces are requiring that nurses have a BSN or that they earn the BSN within a certain time period. Loyola’s online RN to BSN program prepares graduates to meet this demand, advance their careers, and pursue higher-paying, specialized nursing roles, such as:

  • Surgical Nurse
  • Pediatric Nurse
  • Nurse Case Manager
  • Obstetrical/Gynecological Nurse

Those who wish to pursue the nursing master’s or doctoral degrees will have a solid foundation of knowledge in designing and implementing evidence-based nursing interventions that take into account patients’ beliefs, values, and economic status. Whether your goal is to eventually earn the MSN or DNP, or you are looking to improve your nursing skills and seek new opportunities in healthcare, an online degree from Loyola will prepare you to take the next step in your career.
